2009-05-12 00:00:00

THE Missouri legislature has earmarked US$12 million in federal stimulus funds for a Chinese airline freight hub at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, reported The St Louis Post Dispatch.

If approved by state governor Jay Nixon, $10 million will go to a new building or the renovation of the old McDonnell Douglas building, with the remaining $2 million going to developing backhaul trade.

The air cargo hub was among several St Louis projects to receive federal stimulus money. Spending plans were included in a bill that divides $381 million in budget stabilisation funds, part of $4 billion in federal stimulus money Missouri expects to receive.
