Maersk Oil Qatar awards FSO contracts to joint venture

Maersk Oil Qatar AS has awarded two contracts to a joint venture of Euronav NV and Overseas Shipholding Group for the provision of Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) services on the Al Shaheen field offshore Qatar.

Euronav said confidentiality obligations mean it can only disclose that the eight-year contracts will be carried out by two 442,000-deadweight-ton, double-hull tankers, the TI Asia and the TI Africa.

The contracts will call for extensive conversion and the vessels will start the FSO services in July and September next year.
