Sea Star, Interline Connection teaming in Eastern Caribbean

Sea Star Line Caribbean and Interline Connection will align their services between Puerto Rico and the Eastern Caribbean effective today.

Sea Star, which operates Jones Act services between Florida ports and Puerto Rico, also operates a service to the Eastern Caribbean through its Sea Star Line Caribbean unit. Interline, which is a Netherlands Antilles company based in St. Maarten, specializes in Caribbean feeder services.

Under the agreement Interline will be the sales and marketing agent for the trades between Puerto Rico and the Eastern Caribbean islands of Tortola, St. Maarten, St. Kitts and Antigua.

Interline President Mark Swerdel and Peter Baci, Sea Star's senior vice president of yield management and Caribbean services, announced the deal Wednesday.
