Port of Taicang January container throughput up 7.8pc

EASTERN China's port of Taicang lifted 88,000 TEU in January, an increase of 7.8 per cent over the same month in 2008.

Overall tonnage of the cargoes handled by the port during this month increased 33.9 per cent to 3.4 million tonnes, Xinhua reported.
