China nearly finished deepening upper stretch of the Yangtze

The administration of the waterway of the Yangtze River will lift the dredging depth of the last section of the trunk of the Yangtze river, namely, Wuhu-to-Nanjing, to enable larger ships to go through.
Xiong Xuebin, head of the authority, disclosed that the dredging depth of this section will increase from 7.5 meters to 9 meters in July-September and from 6 meters to 7.5 meters in other months effective from May this year.
