FCS Logistics Ltd has been renamed GreenCarrier Finland Oy to reflect its greater role within GreenCarrier International's global network.
The name change has been approved by International Air Transport Association (IATA). The company's new website address will be www.greencarrier.com.
FCS Logistics was acquired by the Gothenburg-headquartered logistics specialist GreenCarrier International in June 2008 as part of a strategy to strengthen its position in the Nordic region. Founded in 1995, FCS offers international air and sea container transport services. As an IATA approved forwarder, the company has contracts with major airlines around the world.
GreenCarrier Finland transports shipments including ship spares, medical equipment and medicines. A particular speciality is the transport of livestock including pets, horses, cattle and poultry. Pick-up and delivery, kennels, quarantine, veterinarians and flight reservations can also be organised, a company statement said.
Staffan Kjellberg, Managing Director, GreenCarrier International, said: "It had always been our intention to integrate FCS Logistics into our mainstream activities. Like other GreenCarrier offices, GreenCarrier Finland is strong in certain niches and will play an important role in our development along the Baltic coastline and into Russia.
As Green Carrier Finland, the company will expand the range of services it offers its customer base, for example by taking full advantage of our strengths in the Asian market.
GreenCarrier has offices in Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine and Asia, and focuses in particular on transporting goods between Northern Europe and the Far East. GreenCarrier International is part of the Bjork.Eklund Group, one of Sweden's largest privately-owned logistics and transportation companies.
