DOT, DHS confirmation hearings scheduled

Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., incoming chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee announced that the confirmation hearing for Transportation-secretary designate Ray LaHood has been postponed until next week because the committee does not have all necessary paperwork yet.

   Meanwhile, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a confirmation hearing on Thursday for Ariz. Gov. Janet Napolitano to be secretary of Homeland Security.
