Yasumi Kudo to steer NYK as President from April

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Line has announced the appointment of Mr Yasumi Kudo, its current Executive Vice-President, as its new President with effect from April this year, Exim News Service informed.

An economics major, Mr Kudo joined NYK Line immediately after graduation in 1975 and has had a distinguished career with the company. He gradually moved up the ranks, holding positions such as General Manager (in the semi-liner and car carrier groups), Corporate Officer, Managing Director, Representative Senior Managing Director and Representative Executive Vice-President.

In conjunction with Mr Kudo’s promotion, Mr Koji Miyahara, the incumbent President, will become Chairman, although he will retain his representative rights. The incumbent Chairman, Mr Takao Kusakari, will become Director, Board Counselor.
