Crude Oil Drops below 50 US Dollars

Crude oil dropped below 50 U.S. dollars a barrel Thursday morning due to concerns of slumping demand brought by global economic downturn.

Light, sweet crude for December delivery fell 3.71 dollars to 49.91 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange shortly after the morning trading started.
