Danaos takes deliver of two ships

Danaos Corp. said it took delivery this week of the Zim Sao Paolo, a 4,253-TEU containerships. A sister ship, Zim Rio Grande was delivered in July.

Both vessels were built by Samsung Heavy Industries and delivered about a month earlier than scheduled. Each vessel has already commenced its 12-year time charter at fixed rates immediately upon delivery.

Danaos has a fleet of 39 containerships aggregating 155,123 TEUs. It has a contracted fleet of 32 additional containerships aggregating 234,962 TEUs with scheduled deliveries up to 2011. The Athens-based company's.
