Pacer names Kane as CFO

Concord, Calif.-based third-party logistics provider Pacer International Inc. will promote Brian Kane to chief financial officer and Joseph Doherty to executive vice president, investor relations, effective Sept. 15.

Kane will succeed Larry Yarberry, who will continue to serve the company in an unspecified senior executive capacity until his retirement at the end of the year. Kane has served as Pacer's senior vice president, corporate finance since June 30, having previously been executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company's intermodal segment since October 2006.

Doherty has served as Pacer's treasurer since July 2000 and will continue with those duties in his new role.
