New Indian port at Vallarpadam set to open in November 2009

India's first International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) at Vallarpadam will be operational by November 2009, United News of India reports.

CPT and Dubai Ports International, which had won the bid to construct and operate the terminal, had mutually agreed to extend the completion date from April of next year to November.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh laid down the foundation stone for the port in February 2005.
