Avalon promotes Brown

Avalon Risk Management, an insurance agency specializing in the freight transportation and import-export industries, has promoted Michael Brown to executive vice president from senior vice president of sales.

The company also hired Tina Jansen as vice president of surety and government affairs.

Avalon, Elk Grove, Ill., recently underwent a change at the top when Lisa Gelsomino replaced Scott Wolney as president. Wolney left to head a related insurance company.
