Member Lines of the FEFC have been monitoring the port situation at Vietnam and are very concerned with the increased congestion experienced there.
This has resulted in increased costs and Lines are no longer able to fully bear the extra costs of serving the Vietnam ports.
It is therefore their intention to implement a Port Congestion Surcharge of USD 50 per TEU for B/L dated on or after 15th July 2008. This surcharge will apply to both eastbound and westbound cargo.
Further to the announcement dated 28th February, Member Lines of the FEFC wish to inform customers that the following PSS will apply:
From Asia (excluding Japan) to Northern Europe
USD 158.00 per TEU with effect from 1st August 2008 until 17th October 2008.
