Loading of Oktyabrskaya Railway up 4.4% to 46.5 mln t in Jan-May 08

In January-May, 2008, Oktyabrskaya Railway (OZD, branch of Russian Railways) loaded 46.5 million tonnes of cargo (+4.4%, year-on-year), OZD PR service informs. In the reported period the company loaded 13.6 million tonnes of construction materials (18.1% against the results of 2007), almost 8.9 million tonnes of iron ore (107.3% against 2007), over 5.7 million tonnes of fertilizers (101.9% against 2007), over 508,000 tonnes of ferrous metal (113.7% against 2007).

Besides, loading of cement amounted to 664,700 tonnes, timber – 3.6 million tonnes, paper - 292,100 tonnes, foodstuffs - 503,400 tonnes.
