Palmali (Russia), RussNeft ink agreement for oil transportation

2011-06-07 00:00:00

Rostov-on-Don-based Russian shipping company Palmali signed today a 10-year agreement with the oil company RussNeft (until 2021) on the transportation of oil products by Palmali’s sea-going and river tankers on Russian inland waterways (RIW), Palmali told PortNews. The terms of the agreement includes carriage of 2 million tons oil products in 2011 from river ports of Oktyabrsk, Azov, Taganrog and Zhigulevsk to a FSO vessel at the anchorage of Port of Kavkaz.

In 2005, Palmali signed its first ten-year contract for oil transportation via RIW with LUKOIL (the contract extended until 2020). Under this contract the operator is annually shipping up to 6 million tons of oil products (from the ports of Volgograd, Azov and Taganrog).

Palmali is the only company that was awarded a long-term contract from the cargo owner.

Palmali’s current fleet is more than 100 vessels of a total capacity of nearly 400,000 tons.

This year, the shipping company’s tankers are engaged in transportation of oil products from the port of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Astrakhan, Nikolaevsk (Volgograd region), Volgograd, Rostov, and Taganrog to the ports of Kavkaz, Kerch and other ports of the Black Sea, Marmara and Mediterranean seas. During this year’s navigation Palmali has boosted transportation of petroleum products to 3 million tons.

Last year, shipments of oil cargoes on Russia's inland waterways (Volga-Don, Azov-Don basins) by the shipping company Palmali exceeded 4.5 million tons.

In 2010, Palmali commenced transportation of oil from the commissioned marine terminal “Y. Korchagin" in the northern Caspian Sea.

Palmali Group specializes in liquid bulk transportation in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black seas. The Group is the general carrier of oil companies SOCAR (Azerbaijan) and LUKOIL (Russia).
