Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) , the world's seventh-largest container shipping firm, said on Monday it carried 9 percent more cargo in the four weeks to May 6 from a year ago, helped by higher volumes on Intra-Asia and Asia-Europe routes, Reuters reports. NOL carried 231,100 forty-foot equivalent units (FEUs) during the four-week period, up from 212,000 FEUs a year ago, the firm said in a statement.

The average revenue per FEU fell 4 percent to $2,549 per FEU from $2,669 last year, hit by lower rates on the Asia-Europe route.
