2011-05-26 00:00:00

BLANK Rome has announced that Conor Warde has relocated to the firm's Hong Kong office, Blank Rome Solicitors, an affiliated entity, from its office in Washington, DC.

Mr Warde is described by the company as being an experienced maritime and corporate attorney who focuses his practise primarily on regulatory and transactional matters. "Mr Warde's move to Hong Kong is an important component to the continued growth of Blank Rome's presence in Asia," a statement said.

During his career with the company, Mr Warde has represented a broad range of clients, including shipowners, managers, flag states, banks, private equity firms and shipyards, noted American Shipper in its report of the transfer.

Before joining the company, he served as in-house counsel to the Marshall Islands Ship and Corporate Registries, and also gained experience with the Office of the US Trade Representative in Washington, the Crown Prosecution Service in London and a financial services company in Luxembourg. In addition to being a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong, Mr Warde is a qualified US attorney and an English solicitor.

The solicitors' firm in Hong Kong counsels clients on direct investment throughout Asia, and especially China, and on issues involving corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliances, commercial litigation and arbitration, labour and employment, immigration, insurance and financial services law.
