GOVERNMENT of southwest China's Guangxi Autonomous Region issued an official document requiring all cities to exempt trucks carrying perishable agricultural products from toll in order to relieve the recent serious national vegetable supply chain problem, Xinhua reported.
The document also requires all toll roads, including bridges and tunnels, to set up exclusive gates for these truck to facilitate transportation of perishable goods besides charging them no fees.
Guangxi also requires all cities to use vacant land and parking areas as vegetable markets to relieve the problem of unsalable vegetables due to logistics costs outstripping profits.
