Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has become the fifth Korean shipbuilder to enter the offshore market, winning a contract from Vietnam worth $64m. Sungdong will build a floating storage and offloading facility for PTSC (PetroVietnam Technical Services Company), a subsidiary of PetroVietnam. The FSO booked at Sungdong has a length of 171.5 metres and a breadth of 32.4 metres with crude oil storage capacity of 350,000 barrels and will be delivered in early 2013.
