April LA box volume increased 3.7pc while Long Beach leapt 14.6pc

CONTAINER volume through the neighbouring ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach increased 6.3 per cent year on year in April, largely driven by a 14.6 per cent growth rate in Long Beach.


Together, the ports lifted 1.14 million TEU in April and from the first of January, the ports moved 4.3 million TEU, with Los Angeles rising 8.5 per cent year on year and Long Beach 7.3 up per cent.


Long Beach April volume increased to 531,090 TEU while Los Angeles volume grew 3.7 per cent to 617,272 TEUs, with import volume rising 3.4 percent to 312,359 TEU.
