SHENZHEN's Da Chan Bay Terminal One situated in the western port area has announced that the South China East Coast Express service (SCE2) jointly operated by Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, NYK, OOCL and ZIM has started calling at the facility.
This new service calls weekly the south China terminal on Fridays,
Said Zim Asia Pacific president Danny Hoffmann: "We are delighted to add this transpacific service at Da Chan Bay Terminal One starting from May 13. This new service provides to our customers better port coverage between South China and the east coast of America."
The South China East Coast Express service deploys a total of nine vessels ranging from 4,500 to 4,900 TEU, with Zim providing four; NYK, three and HMM, two.
It is the second transpacific string operated by the Grand Alliance consortium, and a new string for Zim which calls at Da Chan Bay Terminal One after revamping its transpacific service. It is also HMM's first string to call at Da Chan Bay, which serves the Pan-Pearl River Delta cargo catchment areas.
The port rotation for the service is: Busan, Shanghai-Yangshan, Xiamen, Shenzhen-Da Chan Bay Terminal One, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Panama Canal, Cristobal, Kingston, Savannah, North Charleston, Kingston, Cristobal, Panama Canal, returning to Busan.
