Colombia to hold seminar for foreign investors

A seminar presenting new investment opportunities for foreign investors will be held on May 18 in Colombia's southern city Cali, the organizer, Colombia's tourism promotion agency Proexport, said Thursday.


The seminar "Opportunities for the Development of Investment Projects in Colombia" informs how companies can qualify for new tax breaks and benefit from the simplified procedures required for foreign investors to do business in Colombia.


Colombian lawmakers recently approved "Law 1430", a tax reform that helps create jobs and makes Colombia a more competitive country for investment.


According to Proexport's statement, the seminar will also specialize in legal issues.


Investors are invited to participate in a question-and-answer session at the end of the seminar.
