TWO Grand China Shipping transpacific services will commence as the existing SPX (Super Pacific Express) splits into two and creates the PPX (Pearl River Delta-Pacific Express) service from May 15.
The new SPX, that focuses on Central China and Korea, will have the following rotation: Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach, Oakland and back to Ningbo with the first sailing of the 2,700-TEU Red Strength from Ningbo on May 17.
The PPX, that focuses on south China, will have the following rotation: Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Long Beach, Oakland, Xiamen and commences with the sailing from Xiamen of the 2,564-TEU City of Xiamen on May 26.
Connections will continue to be offered with other Chinese ports and with the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam using GCS' own feeder network.
The split in service now allows additional calls at Xiamen, Busan and Oakland while transit time from Hong Kong-Yantian to Long Beach is cut by three days.
From United States shores, Great China Shipping offers inland point intermodal (IPI) connections to southern California, Chicago, Houston, Memphis, Dallas and Kansas City.
