Transshipments to Fujian's nearby provinces nearly double in first quarter

SOUTHEAST China's Fujian province registered a volume of 2.9 million tonnes of transshipments from neighbouring provinces via its sea ports from January to March, an increase of 91.8 per cent year on year, Xinhua reports.


The Port of Xiamen shipped 1.9 million tonnes of cargo to Jiangxi province, up 34.2 per cent, while port of Meizhou Bay shipped 544,600 tonnes of coal to Jiangxi, both via sea-rail intermodal. The Port of Fuzhou shipped 465,200 tonnes of cargo via waterway and sea-rail intermodal to other provinces, surging 353 per cent year on year.
