Air cargo throughput via Hong Kong in April fell 9.3 percent from a year earlier, data from Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (Hactl) showed.
Cargo exports and imports from the city in April decreased 11.6 percent and 6.4 percent, respectively from a year earlier, reported Reuters.
Because of the earthquake and tsunami and subsequent nuclear crisis, imports from Japan in April showed a year-on-year decrease of 28.1 percent, Hactl said.
Hong Kong is a re-export centre for trade between Asia and the rest of the world.
