CHINA and Indonesia have signed new trade accords including US$8 billion in commercial loans for Indonesian infrastructure projects, capping off Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's two-day state visit to the country, reported the Wall Street Journal.
China plans to nearly double its trade with Indonesia by 2015 to a total of $80 billion, Premier Wen told a press conference. Trade between the countries was $36.1 billion last year, with Indonesia carrying a $4.7 billion trade deficit, according to data from Indonesia's trade ministry.
A Chinese business delegation planned to sign $10 billion in deals during the state visit. China also plans to set up a cooperation fund with Indonesia to focus on maritime safety technology and research, the report said.
