CTSA increases currency surcharge to 10pc from June 1

SHIPPING lines participating in the Canada Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement (CTSA) have announced a move to again increase the Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF) surcharge to 10 per cent from June 1.


The fee will be applicable from all origins in north east and south east Asia, including Japan and mainland China, and cover trades to all ports and points in Canada.


The CAF implemented on May 1 for this month was nine per cent, up from eight per cent in April, a statement said.


CTSA member lines are APL, Cosco, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, NYK Line, OOCL, Yang Ming and Zim.
