US GLOBAL package delivery company United Parcel Service (UPS) has reported a first quarter year-on-year net profit increase of 66 per cent to US$885 million, drawn on revenues of $12.58 billion.
Domestic trade was up 6.2 per cent and international volume increased 9.9 per cent. Supply chain and freight revenue was up 7.6 per cent to $2.14 billion, reported American Shipper, adding that UPS Freight revenue showed robust increase of 23 per cent.
Despite strong international package revenue gains in rate increases and fuel surcharges, its revenue per piece was offset by currency at 3.8 per cent gain.
