Japan is looking to implement a new policy by the end of June to strengthen the country's maritime cluster, according to the ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism (MLIT).
The main aims of the New Shipbuilding Policy are to strengthen the maritime cluster through the enhancement of environmental technology, visualisation of performances, and expansion of ship exports through Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the MLIT suggested in a report. MLIT will screen a number of ideas and materialise the selected ideas, taking into account financial and institutional support systems to implement the measures to enhance the shipbuilding industry.
