ANL offers China, Australia to Papua New Guinea service

2011-04-21 00:00:00

FRENCH shipping line CMA CGM's subsidiary, ANL, has started a service linking ports in China and Australia to Papua New Guinea.

The carrier also announced that the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) for this NAPX service will be raised from May 1 to US$680 per TEU and its breakbulk BAF will be increased to $38 per revenue ton/tonne (RT).

Deploying three 609-TEU vessels, the rotation for the NAPX service will be Hong Kong, Shanghai, Rabaul, Lae, Port Moresby, Brisbane, Port Moresby, Lae, Mandang and Shanghai.

This comes after Swire Shipping announced earlier this month a major upgrade to its service coverage from South East Asia to Papua New Guinea with the deployment in late April of an additional 1,100-TEU vessel (13,600 dwt) to its existing shuttle service, with both ships making direct port calls into Port Moresby.
