Hunan's Lingji port January box volume sets new high

THE largest port in central China's Hunan province, Lingji, posted a container throughput of 13,006 TEU in January, the largest monthly throughput since the port started operation, Xinhua reported.


In January, Lingji recorded an inbound and outbound cargo volume of 981,000 tonnes, up 22 per cent year on year. Inbound cargo amounted to 469,000 tonnes. Outbound cargo was 512,000 tonnes.


Situated at the joint of the Yangtze and Dongting Lake, Lingji port is a major terminal in the middle reaches of the Yangtze.
