Tianjin January container volume up 21.5pc to 927,000 TEU

PORT of Tianjin lifted 927,000 TEU in January, up 21.5 per cent year on year, while its throughput grew 11.8 per cent to 35.6 million tonnes. Both the figures were record highs, Xinhua reports.


The port said it devoted much effort to finding cargo sources and seeking new container shipping services and has attracted a new Indian service jointly operated by Evergreen and Simatech. The line uses six 2,800-TEU ships sailing weekly.
