EAST China's Shandong province posts 18 per cent growth in port throughput to 800 million tonnes in the first 11 months, reports Xinhua.
Its container throughput grew 16 per cent to 13.95 million TEU during the same period with foreign trade cargo volume increased 17 per cent to 451 million tonnes.
The province's three major ports like Qingdao, Rizhao and Yantai move 570 million tonnes of cargo, accounting for 84.1 per cent of the total. Qingdao moved 319.3 million tonnes with a 10 per cent increase, while Rizhao port handled 207.8 million tonnes with a 22 per cent growth and Yantai port moved 139.4 million tonnes with a 21 per cent hike.
