2010-12-10 00:00:00

ALOHA Air Cargo, Hawaii's biggest inter-island air freight carrier, recently purchased two Saab 340 turboprop jets in an effort to diversify its fleet, which is currently comprised of four Boeing 737-200s.

The new aircraft will enter service between April and June of next year to increase the company's capacity 15 per cent. Efficiency rates are also expected to rise as a result.

A recent report by the Star Advertiser credited the airline with handling nearly 70 per cent of Hawaii's inter-island air cargo.
