SITC and Dae Sun Shipbuilding sign newbuilding contract

SHANGHAI's SITC Development Group Company Limited, said to be China's third-largest non-state owned container shipping company, and Busan's Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd have signed a newbuilding contract.

The two have signed newbuilding orders since the 1990, said and SITC statement. SITC chief executive Yang Xian Xiang and Dae Sun Shipbuilding managing director Jae Yong Ahn attended the signing ceremony.

SITC has a container fleet of 42 vessels providing liner services to and from China to Japan, Korea, south-east Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
