UPS to increase base rate by 4.9pc

United Parcel Service (UPS) plans to up its rates in 2011 on all ground packages and on all air express and US origin international shipments from January.
Ground rates will increases on a base rate increase of 5.9 per cent offset by a one per cent decrease in fuel surcharge with air express and international shipments slightly up at 6.9 per cent base rate and a two per cent drop in fuel surcharge.
