THE Global Port Tracker, always something of a misnomer because it only covers US ports, is now joining forces with Bremen-based Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics to report on European ports with the monthly Global Port Tracker: North Europe Trade Outlook.
According to Ben Hackett, of Hackett Associates, which puts out the monthly research report for the US National Retail Federation, the European report will cover six of Europe's big ports - Le Havre, Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Rotterdam, Bremen/Bremerhaven and Hamburg.
"It breaks new ground by providing more comprehensive forecasts that comprise monthly and quarterly projections for inbound, outbound and empty container moves in a TEU format. It also provides additional levels of aggregation and includes a pan-European monthly/quarterly forecast for imports and exports. A breakdown by North Europe and the Mediterranean/Black Sea sub-regions is also available," said Mr Hackett.
