China's PMI rises to 51.7pc in August

CHINA's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) grew 0.6 percentage point month on month to 51.7 per cent in August, said Xinhua, based on a report jointly issued by the National Bureau of Statistics and China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

This is the first recovery after the decline for three consecutive months, indicating that Chinese manufacturing sector is generally on growth.
