Da Chan first to use all electric RTGs

Da Chan Bay Terminal One in the Port of Shenzhen said Wednesday it has taken delivery of 30 electric rubber-tire gantry cranes, making it the first terminal in the world to operate wholly with electric-powered RTGs.

Da Chan is the newest of the disparate terminals that comprise the Port of Shenzhen in southern China. The terminal, a joint venture between Hong Kong-based Modern Terminals and the Shenzhen government, began operations in December.
