Khorgas near Kazakhstan border doubles trade value to US$152.6 million

TRADE value through the town of Khorgas, Xinjiang province, near the Kazakhstan border, increased 107.1 per cent in the first six months of 2010 to US$152.6 million year on year, reported Xinhua.


Import and export volume through Khorgas reached 1.219 million tonnes from January to June, increasing 327.8 per cent against the volume moved in the same period last year.


While exports decreased 9.3 per cent to 253,600 tonnes, their value increased 58.2 per cent to $1.151 billion. Imports increase to 965,200 tonnes, accounting for $376 million in value. Natural gas imports contributes greatly contributed to this growth, said the report.
