Feeder from Shanghai to east Russia's Vanino launched

A NEW container feeder service from Shanghai to Vanino on the Russian north Pacific coast, has started with the recent arrival of the 540-TEU Muirfield at Vanino Port.


The Marshall Islands-flagged ship is scheduled to call at Shanghai on July 23 and is operated by Rasiacon Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus. The ship is on a time-charter.


Initially, one vessel will call at the ports every 14 days. Later a second vessel will be deployed and the service frequency will be raised to weekly.


The cargo is expected to be transported on this route includes equipment, plastics, bathroom and lavatory accessories and electronics. Cargo destined for Asia will transit to Magadan and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski and to other parts of Russia.
