Serbia and Cuba opened a business forum on Thursday to discuss ways to broaden bilateral economic cooperation.

Pedro Alvarez, president of Cuba's Chamber of Commerce, said both countries have the willingness to boost their economic and trade relations.

Business communities of both countries are interested in expanding the collaboration ties in the fields of pharmaceutical industry, construction, energy and tourism, Alvarez said.

Milos Bugarin, Alvarez's counterpart of Serbia, reiterated his country's intentions to strengthen the existing contacts with Cuban companies.

Serbia is particularly interested in the development of the Cuban Biotechnology, he said.

The forum is part of the 11th session of the Cuba-Serbia Intergovernmental Joint Commission, which will end on Friday.
