DB Schenker enhances LCL consolidation from south China

2010-06-24 00:00:00

GERMANY's DB Schenker has announced four new weekly consolidation less-than-container-load (LCL) services, reaching 102 direct points from the south China through the new DB SchenkerCombine services that links from Guangzhou to Milan, Le Havre, Rotterdam and Felixstowe.

"Under the full control of DB Schenker, the new services offer the best connectivity and price, while increasing cargo safety and reducing transit times by eliminating previous transshipments through Hong Kong," said DB Schenker's Hong Kong-south China ocean freight chief Henry Schmidl.

"Development in DB SchenkerCombine volume has been progressing well and we will further expand our network by adding additional destinations directly from Xiamen and Guangzhou within this year," he said.

DB Schenker also offers value-added features such as an integrated part of the service, and is planning to add temperature controlled equipment in selected area such as wine shipments.

DB Schenker combines the business units DB Schenker Logistics and DB Schenker Rail, has 91,000 staff at 2,000 locations in 130 countries.
