FCT launches new container block train

- Following recent “intensified attempts” by the authorities to ban the transportation of overweight boxes by truck, First Container Terminal (FCT) has launched a new container service for its St Petersburg terminal customers - the Saint-Petersburg Express container block train that will shuttle between Saint Petersburg and Moscow twice a week.

The trains, operated by Logistics Operator Ltd., will be formed at FCT and shipped from Avtovo (Saint-Petersburg), arriving at the Moskva-Tovarnaya TransContainer terminal in Moscow via the Oktyabrskaya Rail Road. The containers will then be delivered by road truck according to consignees’ instructions.

The estimated en-route time from Saint-Petersburg to consignees’ premises in Moscow is 48 hours.
