New record set at Vizag Port

A record 21,762 tonnes of industrial salt with a hook output of 1,451 tonnes was discharged on May 10 from the vessel m.v. Hawk-1 at EQ-7, according to Exim News Service.

The cargo was imported by Andhra Sugars.

The Port thus surpassed its previous best discharge of 18,308 tonnes with a hook output of 1,220 tonnes effected on March 25, 2008 from the vessel m.v. Woqoof E Mujdalefa.

Shree Ashapura Cargo Carriers was the stevedore and Vindhya Satpura Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd the steamer agent for the vessel, a Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) release said.
