Agility has further consolidated its credentials in the world of motorsports logistics by being the official and exclusive logistics operations handler at the inaugural race of the 2010 FIA GT World Championships, held in Abu Dhabi on the 16th - 17th April 2010. Agility Fairs & Events, in agreement with the Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management Company (ADMM), was assigned with transporting the race cars and equipment to the Yas Marina Circuit.
Agility's responsibilities included customs clearance, transportation, inspection, off-loading at the site and onsite supervision as well as outbound transportation by air and sea after the event. In addition, a customs bonded facility was set up at the circuit site to expedite clearance and Agility coordinated the necessary security permissions with the government authorities.
Elias Monem, CEO of Agility Middle East & Africa, said:
"Following the success of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last November, Yas Marina Circuit has established itself as the premium race track in the region. Through our previous work, Agility proved it had the credentials to be able to facilitate such a high profile event. We are committed to ensuring equipment is safely and securely
delivered and we are proud to have been selected by Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management to offer our services."
George Jacob, Regional Manager for Fairs & Events, Agility Middle East, added:
"Motorsports are very popular in the UAE and it is vitally important that everything runs smoothly. The FIA GT race was a huge success, with over 15,000 people attending the two day event and we hope to continue our relationship with Yas Marina in the near future".
Agility Fairs & Events first teamed up with Yas Marina when it was appointed as the official customs clearing and on-site handling agent for the circuit and responsible for arranging a round the clock customs-bonded area at the track.
