Dalian's first quarter volume up 19.6pc to 1.2 million TEU

NORTHEASTERN China's port of Dalian lifted 1.2 million TEU during the first quarter of this year, up 191,000 TEU or 19.6 per cent more than the same period in a year ago, Logistics Week reported.

Domestic trade cargo accounted for 255,000 TEU, up 28.1 per cent. Containerised bulk cargo totalled to 8,400 TEU.

In this period, the port recorded a throughput tonnage of 58.2 million tonnes, up 21.2 per cent or 10.2 million tonnes.
