Tug and barge missing in the South China Sea

Singapore: A Singapore-owned tug and barge are missing in the South China Sea. Industry sources told Seatrade Asia Online a tug and barge were reported missing off the east coast of Malaysia late yesterday. It is feared the tug and barge could have been hijacked, although it could simply be a communications equipment failure. No further information is available at present. The Singapore-registered tugboat, Asta, was hijacked in the South China Sea on February 6, the vessel was recovered the following month in the Philippines.
