JAPAN's "K" Line and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) have announced an all-water service from major Asian ports to the US east coast via the Suez Canal starting on May 15 with the sailing of the Suez Canal Bridge from Shenzhen-Shekou.
The SVE (South China/Vietnam - the US East Coast) service will be operated by "K" Line and MOL with "K" Line providing seven ships and MOL provide two, all in the 5,500-TEU, range. This replaces the existing "K" Line service.
The introduction of the new service will enable MOL to offer direct connections from Vietnam/South China/Singapore to the US East Coast, including a call at Jacksonville and brand-new coverage to Halifax, with competitive transit times.
The port rotation with be: Cai Mep, Vietnam (Tue-Wed), Shenzhen-Shekou (Fri-Sat), Hong Kong (Sat-Sun), Shenzhen-Yantian (Sun-Mon), Singapore, (Thu/Thu), Halifax, Nova Scotia (Tue/Wed), New York (Thu/Fri), Norfolk (Fri-Sat), Jacksonville (Sun-Mon), Savannah (Mon-Tue), Singapore (Sun-Mon) and Cai Mep, Vietnam (Tues-Wed).
